In part one of this series, you learned some strategies for writing effective real estate blog titles. Specifically, we talked about how you can write titles that entice readers while also improving your search engine visibility.
In this follow-up tutorial, I’ll offer some actual real estate blog title ideas you can use when writing content.
5 Real Estate Blog Title Ideas to Spark Your Creativity
I’ve been managing and writing real estate blogs for more than a decade. But I don’t do it “in the blind.” I track, measure and analyze the performance of almost every article published. This offers a great deal of insight into how certain topics perform online, and how readers interact with them.
Based on all of that research, I have identified some real estate blog title ideas that tend to perform better than others. Here are some ideas that have worked well for me in the past.
1. “How-to” titles
I touched on this in the previous tutorial. According to legendary copywriter Bob Bly: “Many advertising writers claim if you begin with the words how to, you can’t write a bad headline.” This concept can generate a steady stream of real estate blog title ideas as well.
Home buyers and sellers are extremely interested in how-to topics that help them achieve their goals. You can build this into your blogging strategy by explaining certain steps in the real estate process. For example, you might write an article that explains “How to evaluate the seller’s asking price.”
2. Interesting statistics
Want some fresh real estate blog title ideas? Just review the market stats and trends for your local area. What are home prices doing? Have they risen or fallen over the last year, and by how much? What about mortgage rates? What about the number of homes currently listed for sale, or the number of homes sold over the last month?
These and other statistics are great for real estate blog title ideas. You can create an informative and interesting blog post about any of these topics. Be sure to include the actual numbers within the title, to make it even more enticing. Example: “There are 17% fewer homes on the market today than last year.”
If you keep track of what’s happening in your local market, you will never be at a loss for real estate blog title ideas. You’ll also be a well-informed agent, which is exactly what your clients deserve. So now you have two reasons to keep track of these local trends.
3. The steps in a process
Think about the different stages of the home buying or selling process. How can the process be broken up into different stages? How can each of those stages be broken down into a series of steps? And voila … you have a whole series of real estate blog title ideas.
First-time home buyers in particular appreciate articles that walk them through the process in step-by-step fashion. If you explain each step in detail, your blog readers will appreciate it. They’ll also spend more time on your site, and will be more inclined to contact you.
You could even combine this with the “how to” real estate blog title idea mentioned earlier. Example: “How to establish a home-buying budget in 5 easy steps.” Another example: “7 steps to finding the perfect home for you.”
Again, think about each of the individual processes that occur during a typical real estate transaction. They can all be used for blog title ideas.
4. Pain avoidance
Home buyers and sellers are typically very concerned with mistakes they might make along the way. After all, there is a lot of money on the line during a real estate transaction. So mistakes can be very costly to a buyer or seller. They are also a good source for real estate blog title ideas.
Think about the different mistakes and missteps that can occur during a real estate transaction. How can they be avoided? There are many potential mistakes that can occur during this process, which means there are plenty of real estate blog title ideas to be built from them. Example: “How to avoid paying too much for a home.”
5. Top-10 lists (or 15, 21, etc.)
Top-10 lists are incredibly popular among Internet researchers (including home buyers and sellers). Why do you think Forbes cranks out so many of those “10 Top Cities for Job Seekers” articles, and similar pieces? They do it because it brings a ton of web traffic.
Think about the different types of top-10 lists (or top 5, top 20, etc.) you could create that pertain to your local real estate market. There is a wealth of real estate blog title ideas within this “genre.” Here’s one example: “Top 10 reasons to live in Phoenix, Arizona.”
You could also write a blog post about the 10 most popular neighborhoods in your metro area, or the top 10 reasons to relocate to your city. There are many possibilities for blog title ideas in this area.
